 Operation is the advanced form of production. The process of producing products below the lowest price. This process is known as operation.

In other words, we can say that operation is the advanced analytical technique of producing products and services.

Research is the process of finding, innovating, searching for new technology tools to concern function. This process is called research

So we can say that Operation research is the scientific study of production and its concern function to produce maximum at minimum price.

In other words, we can say that the process of finding, searching, innovating ideas, opinions, thought, vision to produce products and services below the lowest price. This process is called operation research.

The scope of Operation Research is very wide. It may apply to all functions of business and organization. The main scopes are as below:

2. It focuses to provide maximum productivity.

3. It provides support in decision-making.

4. It helps to make an innovative plan for the short term, middle term, and long term.

5. It helps in measuring man on a quantitative basis.

6. It helps in optimum utilization of resources.

7. It helps to achieve the objective of the organization.

8. It helps to perform other functions of business in an effective, efficient, neat, and economical way.

Steps:

1. Identification of problem- it is the first step of operation research. Every company has many problems. Operation research teaches us to identify the problem that we want to solve in the first step.

2. To know the concerned department- there are many departments in the organization. These are production, marketing, human resource management,t and so on. In the second step, we find out the department to which the problem belongs.

3. To know the cause- is the third step of OR. After knowing the department we find out the cause of the problem.

4. Finding a solution- after knowing the cause of the problem we find out the solution to the problem.

5. To choose e solution- there are many solutions to every problem. It requires resources like finance, man, material,l and so on. We choose one of the best solutions according to our organization.

6o implement the solution is the last step of the OR. After selecting one of the best solutions we implement it inside the organization.
