Concept of Production Management

 Production Management is one of an important department of organization.It plays an important role for the survival,growth and profit maximization of organization.

Production-The process of changing raw material into output with the help of plant and technology at continuous basis this process is called production.

Management-The process of managing men according to our function goal according to rules,regulation law this process is called management.

Production Management-The process of managing men according to rules regulation to perform the activity action of production by effective efficient way this process is called production management.

In other words we can say that production management is the process of arranging,utilising consuming land labour,plant,money to produce quality product at minimum cost.

According to Elwood Buffa-Production management deals with decision making related to production processes so that the resulting goods or services is produced according to specification in the amount and by the schedule demanded and at minimum cost.

According to F.L.Brech-Production management is the process of effectively planning and regulating the operations of that section of an enterprises which is responsible for the actual transformation of materials into finished goods.

According to A.W.Field-Production management is the process of planning and regulating the operational part of an enterprises which is responsible for actual transformation of materials into finished goods..
