Linear Programming

There are many models of Operation research. These models are:

1. Linear programming- It is one of the important models of operation research. Linear is the relationship between two variables. Programming is the combination of policy, procedure, program, etc So we can say that linear programming is the process of knowing the relationship of two variables and their impacts on events.

According to George B. Dantzig, " Linear Programming is a mathematical modeling technique useful for allocation of limited resources such as material, machines, etc to several competing activities. Such as projects, services, etc.

Nature:

1. It is a quantitative technique.

2. It is a technical method.

3. It is a dependable approach.

4. It shows the relationship between cause and impact.

5. It is a production-oriented approach

6. It is a goal-oriented approach.

Objectives:

There are many objectives of Linear programming. These objectives are below:

1. It helps to arrange resources economically.

2. It helps to allocate, distribute resources.

3. It helps in decision-making.

4. It helps in pricing.

5. It helps to find out many alternatives to any function.

6. It helps us to achieve the alternative method of any activity.

7. It helps to decide the best transportation method of forwarding products and services.
