It was established in 1868 by an entrepreneur ambititous and visionary Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata. There are more than 100 Company perform their function individually. These Company are Tata Consultancy, Tata Motors etc. Among all Tata Moters Limited is one of popular and multinational automobile company that perform it's function in more than 10 countries. 

It was established in 1945 as Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company Ltd. Its aim to produce locomotives and concern product. Today it is the leader in the segment of Commercial vehicles. 

The vision of Company is " Best in the manner in which they operate best in the products they deliver and best in their value system and ethics".

It produces many types of vehicles. These vehicles are bus, truck and defence vehicles. There are more than 10 countries in which it performs it's business. These countries are United Kingdom, South Korea, Thailand, South Africa and Indonesia. 

There are five manufacturing plants of Company inside India. These are situated at Jamshedpur ( Jharkhand), Pune(Maharashtra), Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Pantnagar( Utrakhand) , Dharwad (Karnataka) and Sanad ( Gujarat). 

Besides above it is the first Engineering Company of India that is listed in the New York Stock Exchange in 2004.

The Success journey of Company-

It collaborated with Marshal Sons that is one of the best Company of United Kingdom and produce Steam Road Roller in 1948. It also collaborated with Daimler Benz AG one of strongest company of West Germany and produce commercial Vehicles. 

In the period of 1959- 60 it starts work on Research and development because it's competitiors add new features of their vehicles so it established Research and development center in Jamshedpur in 1959.

It has been participating  international business since 1961. It exports its truck to Sri Lanka in 1961.

It also established a new Engineering Research Centre at Pune because the selling of Company increasing in national market and they want to increase their sell in international market. It also introduced DI engine in 1971. After the approval of company the design that is developed by Jamshedpur Unit of commercial vehicle is produced in Pune plant in 1977.
