AYUSHMAN BHARAT Covers COVID 19.

 Ayushman Bharat is the world's largest health insurance scheme that is fully financed by the government. It is launched on 25 September 2018.

Key features-

1.It provides free coverage of up to 5 lakh per family per year at any government or empanelled private hospital all over India. 

2.Its aim to achieve the vision of United Health Mission. 

3. It is a portable scheme. Card holder may visit any government hospital or empanelled private hospital in India. 

4. There is no discrimination on the basis of family, size, age, gender, caste, religion and so on. 

5. It covers more than 11 crore family. 

6. It provides cashless access to health care service for the beneficiary at government or empanelled private hospital. 

7.It also provides 3 days of pre hospitalization and 15 days post hospitalization expenses.

8.It is based on the principles of cooperative federalism and flexibility to state. 

9. It is fully funded by the central government and the cost of implementation is shared between centre and state government. 

10. It covers the treatment of Cancer, Surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, cardiac surgery, neuro surgery, spine surgery, dental surgery, eye surgery MRI and CT Scan. 

The second wave of covid 19 spread all over the world. India is maximum affected because it is the second largest populated country. COVID 19 virus impacts the overall immune system of body. It also causes weight loss and weakness. 

According to circular of Central government the treatment and testing of COVID 19 will be done for free of cost in any government or private empanelled hospital. It is the flagship health insurance scheme of Central government so this decision is very beneficial for more than 11 crore family.
