Concept of planning

We know that there are a number. of functions every Manager performs. These functions are planning,organizing,staffing,directing,controlling and so on.

                 Every function plays an important role to make the function of business more effective,efficient,economical fast smooth,but planning plays very important role because it decides in advanced what to be be do,when to do,whom to be do and so on.
There are a no. of experts define planning a number of ways. Some ways are as below;
  1. According to Knootz and O'Donell planning is deciding in advance what to do ,how to do and who to do it. Plannig bridges the gap between where we are to where we wantto go. It makes possible things to occur which would not otherwisw occur.
2.According to Urwick planning is mental predisposition to do things in orderly way, to think before acting to act in the light of facts rather than guess planning is deciding best alternative among others to perform different managerial in order to achieve predetermined goals.
3.According  to me planning is the combination of policy programe procedure in advance to implement it a/c to environment condition of market economy in coming months,year decade and so on.
In other words we can say that planning is the process of deciding objectives,goals and make away to achieve it in coming era ,year decade and so on.

                                        NATURES OF PLANNING:
There are a number. of natures of planning. These are as below;
1. It is a continuous function.
2. It is a future oriented function.
3. It is a goal-oriented function.
4. It is a primary function.
5. It is an intellectual function.
6. It is top class management belonging function.
7. It is dynamic.
8. It is forecasting based function.
9. It is objective oriented function.
10. It is forward looking function.

                                         SCOPE OF PLANNING:
The scope. of planning is very wide. It is applicable every type of organisation like ; large scale, middle scale, small scale. It is also applicable all types of enterprises like; service enterprises, production oriented enterprises,and so on.It minimise risk, uncertainty of business so,it makes an important role to  allocation and effiicient utilisation of resource and achieve our objectives.

                                IMPORTANCE OF PLANNING:
1. Planning is very important for the rising, success and growth of any organisation because it provides a frame work that will implement and execute in the organisation to perform the function, activity, action of organisation in such type of way that it consumes minimum resources and gives us maximum.resul so, it is a vital element that helps organisation to achieve success in market.
