Concept of Operating System and its F unction

 Computer is an electronic device that performs its functions with the help of  hardware ,software according to the instruction of  user.

An operating system is a program that uses hardware ,software and manage for better performance of computer

Definition:-An operating system is a set of programs  that use the hardware of computers and give results according to instruction of users

In other words we can say that an operating system is an interface between user and the hardware of computer.

Functions of operating system :-There are many functions operating system performs .These functions are as below-

1.Memory management:-Every computer has memory.There are two types of memory computer possess.These are primary memory and secondary memory. primary memory is also called main memory .With the help of operating system CPU access to memory and perform his function according to instructions of user.

2.Security:-There are many files ,documents,projects,reports users store in their computers. With the help of operating system we use password protection to save our documents ,projects ,reports etc.It also stop unauthorized access to our file.

3.Device managements:-There are many types of devices computer possess.These device are input device,output device and CPU .It can manage all devices by systematic sequencal way to perform the instructions of user.

4.File management:-There are many file user stores in the computer.All files are stored in the memory of computer.Operating system ensures easy navigation by user.

5.Better performance:-Operating system maintain the better performance of computer.It monitors all activities actions that are performed by computer.If any type of problem occurs in any part of system they inform user to correct it for the better performance of computer.

6.Process management :-There are many tasks user perform at computer in same time.operating system ensures that all tasks of users are performed by processor at same time to satisfy the user.
