 Staffing  is an important function of management  that is used to grow and achive the goal of organisation.There are a number of functions involve in staffing process. These functions are human resourse planning, recruitment, selection, training and performance appraisal. Among all recruitment is the second and most important function of staffing. According to keith davis- Recruitment is the process of finding and attracting capable applicants for employment. The process begins when new recruits are sought and ends when their applications are submitted . 

According to edwin B.flippo- Recruitment is the process of searching for prospective employees and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization .

According to me Recruitment is the process of searching and hiring talented, capable and qua;ified candidates towards orgnisation at right time.

In other words we can say that Recruitment is the process of attracting, shortlisting interviewing and choosing one of best candidates for the job.

*According to mart and T.Telsang- Recruitment is the generating of applications or applicants for a specific position.

*According  to R.W Griffin- Recruitment is the process of attracting individuals to apply for jobs that are open.

*According to Decenzo and S.P Robbins- Recruitment is the process discovering the potential for actual or anticipated organization vacancies.

1. It is subsidy function of manager .

2. It is an internal function.

3. It is a formal function.

4.It is a legal function.

5. It is a systmatic functtion.

6. It is a positive function .

7. It is a goal oriented function.

8. It is a future oriented function.

9. It is a continuous activity.

10. It is a global function.

4. It retains talented personnel inside organisation 

5.It ensures the selection of employee according to policy, procedure and law of organisation.

8.It makes our functions more effective efficient economical. 

9.It helps to expand our organisation. 

10.It makes our organisation a global organisation.
