News agency plays an important role in publishing newspaper.It also helps in operating news channel because it collects news and supply news to newspaper and television channels .There are a number of news agency in India. These are ASIAN NEWS INTERNATIONAL ,FREE PRESS OF INDIA ,HINDUSTAN SAMACHAR ,INDO-ASIAN  NEWS SERVICE,KBK INDIAN GRAPHIC NEWS AGENCY ,PRESS INFORMATION BUREAU ,SAMACHAR,UNITED  NEWS OF INDIA ,UNITED PRESS OF INDIA ,PRESS TRUST OF INDIA 
.PTI is an important news agency of India. It was registered in 1947 .It started its Functions in 1949 .Its headquarters in New Delhi .It is a non profit cooperative organization .It is a union of more than 500 newspaper .It has more than 400 journalists .It has also 500 stingers ,.Its reporters present at every district of India .It covers all blocks,sub division and divisions .It collects more than 2500 stories and 250 photographs .It also covers Indian railways .
It is run by aboard of Directors with the chairmanship going by rotation at the annual general meeting .The Board of Director.are as below-
